Shadows on the Chapel Wall

Afternoon settles in,
shadows stretch across old stone,
soft as breath or thought.

Outside, the wind stills,
but inside, shadows linger —
silent, warm, and real.

No one speaks aloud,
but the wall remembers all —
each step, each small hope.

The Wave — Image by kenne

The Wave is a sandstone formation in Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona.
It’s part of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, which is known for its striking geologic formations.
“The Wave itself was extraordinary. The realization that such a beautiful place exists, and I was among
the fortunate few to experience it, made it even more special.”

(Cienega creek originates in the Canelo Hills in Santa Cruz County, and flows northwest to an area just outside Tucson.
It runs along the east side of State Route 83 and passes under Interstate 10.)

may my heart always be open to little
birds who are the secrets of living
whatever they sing is better than to know
and if men should not hear them men are old

may my mind stroll about hungry
and fearless and thirsty and supple
and even if it’s sunday may i be wrong
for whenever men are right they are not young

and may myself do nothing usefully
and love yourself so more than truly
there’s never been quite such a fool who could fail
pulling all the sky over him with one smile

Smart Phone Photo Walk   3 comments

Kenne, with Balance Issues Saturday Morning

It was supposed to be a walk, not a hike, so I didn’t take hiking poles. My friend Dan was our
smartphone photo guide; however,  I should have known that Dan might be leading us across some small washes since he had a cane.
So, it was handy for me to use after Dan crossed this ditch.

A Very Short Video Clip. The Audio Is Difficult to Understand.

Jackson Square Window — Photo-Artistry by kenne

Over the last forty years, Joy and I have spent many days in one of our favorite cities, New Orleans.
In this image, she looks away because she is not feeling well, so we stop for a bite to eat.
Looking back on this moment, it was probably not the best time for me to photograph her.

Their movement is slow

Blending in with dead branches

Our presence ignored.
