Red-tailed Hawk Over Tucson Skies — Image by kenne

Morning lifts on quiet thermals,
and there you are—
a single intention
written against the light.
Not striving, not hurried—
just the slow agreement
between feather and wind.
If I could learn anything today,
let it be this:
how to trust what carries me.

  1. Thank you, Kenne, for the beautiful poem and the hawk inspiring your talented verses!

  2. This feels like a meditation more than a moment very still, very aware. The image of “a single intention written against the light” is especially striking; it turns the hawk into something almost symbolic, like purpose without effort. And that closing wish to trust what carries me lands gently but deeply. It shifts the scene from observation to introspection in a very natural way.
    There’s a quiet wisdom here: not everything meaningful comes from pushing forward; some things come from aligning, allowing, and listening. The poem holds that space beautifully.

  3. Beautiful!
