Some of the natural lighting at the time of taking the photo and Photoshop help create this colorful image.

Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light.
Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.

An Old Red-clay Boy   2 comments

Kenne_ Art blog II“On The Roads Outside Of San Diego”

On the roads outside Oshiobo,
I fell down on my knees
There were female spirits

In old mud huts, iron bells
Ringing up in the trees and
An eighty-year white priestess,

Who made juju all night long
East of Woodstock,
West of Viet Nam.

Extruded Art & Snyder Poem, “Water”   1 comment

Water

Pressure of sun on the rockslide
whirled me in a dizzy hop-and-step descent,
Pool of pebbles buzzed in a Juniper shadow,
Tiny tongue of a this-year rattlesnake flicked,
I leaped, laughing for little boulder-color coil —
Pounded by heat raced down the slabs to the creek
Deep tumbling under arching walls and stuck
Whole head and shoulders in the water:
Stretched full on cobble—ears roaring
Eyes open aching from the cold and face a trout.

Happy Hour In Old Town San Diego   2 comments

Joy-2762_art blogHappy Hour In Old Town San Diego — Computer Painting by kenne

We stopped
at the entranced
to the Mexican Cafe
for happy hour
on the patio.

“This way please,”
said the dark-eyed
women dressed
in a traditional
colorful Fiesta Dress.

We each ordered
Margaritas on the rocks
our way of reviewing
Mexican cafes
when traveling.

Music jumps
through the air,
venerable reminders
of European Polkas
brought by immigrants.

For good or bad,
our tastes for
Mexican food
continues to be
biased by Tex-Mex.

Somebody should tell us,
right at the start of our lives,
that we are dying.
Then we might live life to the limit,
every minute of every day.
Do it! I say.

Whatever you want to do,
do it now!

There are only so many tomorrows.

. . . again I encounter you

Hiking — The Stuff of Timeless Myths   Leave a comment

Sycamore Canyon Aunt-Art II blogComputer Painting by kenne

Hiking
moving on boots
kicking
aside trail rocks
shedding skin
like a snake

climbing
steep slopes
steadily on feet
wanting to stop
knowing each step

creating
a journey
over
ecstatic mountains
following our guide
from behind my eyes

photographing
memories
collecting mind dropping
to be embellished
becoming timeless myths.
