Prickly Pear Blossom On A Morning Walk   Leave a comment

“. . . the truth is that as soon as you start walking,

all that noise, all those rumours, fade out.

What’s new? Nothing:

the calm eternity of things, endlessly renewed.”

Some people want a big house,
a fast car and lots of money.

Some people want a tiny cabin in the woods
away from those kinds of people.

Baby Come Walk With Me   1 comment

Rose Lake July 2013A trail near Rose Canyon Lake in the Santa Catalina Mountains — Computer Painting by kenne

Baby come walk with me
around the lake
where I will do
anything for you —
delaying not, hurrying not.

Baby come walk with me
around the lake
where no previous day
will be like this —
delaying not, hurrying not.

Baby come walk with me
around the lake
sharing moments of bliss
and transcendental longings —
delaying not, hurrying not.

Baby come walk with me
around the lake
reading Wallace Stevens
and escape by metaphor —
delaying not, hurrying not.

Baby come walk with me
around the lake
outlining the contours
of our experience —
delaying not, hurrying not.

Baby come walk with me
around the lake
creating our own cosmos
resembling the Creation —
delaying not, hurrying not.

Not everything that floats is a duck

with its dark body a white face

and long lobe toes, not likely to get stuck

on land or water, very much a home either place.

Passion Without a Name   Leave a comment

Passion Without a Name

I unfolded my fear
and watched
the unbridled horse of your love.

I wanted his mane
to shine with
hidden fireflies,

Your hands to close around my body,
untie the blind knot
of the sleeping storm.

Yet the horse did not arrive
with its shining mane
nor the touch of your hand,
nor you, my love.

And my body became
very quiet, centered
in the vestal robe
of the hurricane.

“Only thought can resemble.
It resembles by being what it sees, hears, or knows;
it becomes what the world offers it.”

Released silhouettes

flow incessantly like water,

flow between mountains

swiftly like a kaleidoscope.

The solitude of  the North Pole

bustles with human silhouettes.

Endless transmission of  ABC.

On the shredded shore

a silk hat burns

like a mirror trick,

like a human echo

burns a silk hat endlessly.

Then the flames

were received like ABC.

On the night of a beautiful lunar eclipse

the silhouettes smiled.

You Land Lightly   Leave a comment

“You Land Lightly” — Computer Art by kenne

You land lightly
as a butterfly
upon a thistle

gently bathed
in nature’s radiance
coloring the landscape

which I capture
curving the contrast
against darkness.

The Mohave Desert Joshua Tree   Leave a comment

There’s a section of Highway 93
between Wikieup to Wickenburg —
Joshua Forest Scenic Road.
California has its National Park,
Arizona has its Scenic Road.

This narrow,
hilly  two-lane road
is part of our route
to Las Vegas
and Zion National Park
from Tucson.

It’s not easy to stop to take
snapshots of these majestic yuccas —
no shoulders and only an occasional
ranch road that sneaks-up on you
while being pushed by speeding drivers
trying to pass you.

On a recent drive
we were able to pull-off
to the fence-line
where others had done the same
leaving behind trashed beer cans —
what a paradox.

The splendor of the Joshua tree
is as unique and identifiable to the
Mohave Desert
as the majestic saguaro cactus
is to the
Sonoran Desert.

I can feel the flowers
reaching out
touching me halfway
down the trail.

Nature’s sex show
open to the sky
topless
in every way.

Lusting over the appeal
addicted to nature
seeking satisfaction
with more frequent visits.
