Anseriformes At Sweetwater Wetlands   Leave a comment

Yesterday, I spent an afternoon with my friend Tom at the Sweetwater Wetlands, photographing
waterfowl.
We were hoping to see some dragonflies, but it’s still too early with overnight temperatures near
freezing here in the desert.

Don’t call me a duck

Because I float on water

I’m just an “old coot.”

Not everything that floats is a duck

with its dark body a white face

and long lobe toes, not likely to get stuck

on land or water, very much a home either place.
