There are no borders in bonsai,

the dove of peace flies to palace

as to a humble house,

to young as to old,

to rich and poor.”

“The Three Wise Ravens” — Computer Art by kenne

*****

Tis the season of wonder,

the time of the golden dawn.

Three magi all in black,

barriers of exotic wisdom.

Ancient philosophers and priests

carefully phrasing their questions,

In union with good thought,

in word and in deed.

It is between these that

wise men choose what is right.

Peace means no one is worried about anyone else’s cookie…
in this moment we are all quietly content with the cookies we have.

Strength Of The White Rose   8 comments

Thanksgiving 2013-9008 framed blogWhite Rose — Image by kenne

Daylight comes later.

Picked-up the morning paper.

Went running.

The usual walkers were out before light.

The hill slowed my run.

I will forget the pain when I finish –

It’s always that way.

The first freeze is forecasted for Friday.

Say goodbye to the bougainvilleas.

Their fall color will be missed.

Knowing that they will return consoles.

Come Saturday, the white rose will still blossom.

Signifying courage through the long winter night.

A symbol of the poets struggle.

They will not be silenced.

“We Shall Overcome”   5 comments

We shall overcome, we shall overcome
We shall overcome someday
Darling here in my heart, yeah I do believe
We shall overcome someday
Well we’ll walk hand in hand, we’ll walk hand in hand
We’ll walk hand in hand someday
Darling here in my heart, yeah I do believe
We’ll walk hand in hand someday
Well we shall live in peace, we shall live in peace
We shall live in peace someday
Darling here in my heart, yeah I do believe
We shall live in peace someday
Well we are not afraid, we are not afraid
We shall overcome someday
Yeah here in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome someday
Hey we shall overcome, we shall overcome
We shall overcome someday
Darling here in my heart, I do believe
We shall overcome someday
We shall overcome someday

Sadly, there are times we must trade a handshake for the fist. The problem is , it’s the old that trades the handshake for the young’s fist.

Trying To Catch-up   Leave a comment

profile_pic2There are so many things I want to share, but time doesn’t allow – aren’t you glade.

If you every doubt that we are all connected, just listen to music.  You’ve seen it on T-shirts, heard it in songs and read it in literature, “Music, The Universal Language.”

“Music is a form of energy, like the sun.
Music is the voice through which spirits speak,
using a language that is beyond words,
a music that is beyond notes.”

— Jazz Bassist William Parker

The power of music is documented in a new film, “Playing for Change: Peace Through Music.” Producer Mark Johnson traveled the globe recording tracks for such classics as Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” and Bob Marley’s “One World.”  It just doesn’t get better!
