Back from my morning walk
Time for coffee on the patio
And watching birds at the feeder.

A Storm Is Coming   Leave a comment

A Storm Is Coming — Image by kenne

A storm is coming
Dark clouds are on the horizon
I can feel it in the air
The wind is picking up
There’s a feeling of electricity
The sky is a light muted gray
The clouds are moving quickly
Some seem to touch the earth

A storm is coming
I can feel it in the air
I can feel it deep in my bones
There are sounds of thunder
They sound like drums
Lightning strikes dart across the sky

A storm is coming
I can feel it in the air
Mother Nature is shaking
Change is coming

A storm is coming
Of that I am sure

Snake In A Tree   Leave a comment

A Coachwhip Snake In A Palo Verde Tree — Image by kenne

He moved quickly across the road before me.
Trying to ready my camera, I followed him into the brush.
Thinking I had lost an opportunity to photograph him
when I saw him climbing a nearby palo verde tree.
This time I was ready as he twisted his long black body
up the tree before going out a dead limb as if to pose.

Panther Peak sits in the northernmost reaches of the western unit of Saguaro National Park in the Tucson Mountains northeast of Tucson, Arizona. Sitting just west of Safford Peak (locally known as “Sombrero Peak”), Panther Peak is a rustic little desert mountain providing views of the northeastern Tucson suburbs and mountains beyond. — Source: Summitpost.org

Rainbow Painting — House of Sky   1 comment

Rainbow Painting (House of Sky) by kenne

The future is waiting
like a short-lived rainbow
poised on the tongue
of the artist and poet
such is the house of sky.

Death In The Canyon   Leave a comment

Dead Saguaro In Sabino Canyon (January 15, 2014) — Image by kenne

The skin is the first to go
in the beginning protected
from the sun by a nurse tree.

This symbol of the Sonoran Desert
so slow to grow in the beginning
going unnosed for years
in the shadows of the nurse tree.

We teach children about this icon
by having the guess the age
of a saguago based on its heigh.

A Christmas Bouquet   1 comment

A Christmas Bouquet — Photo-Artistry by kenne

There’s nothing lovelier, than having
fresh cut flowers, on a table, it dresses
up any room! I love the aroma that fills
the air, with it’s faint and dainty perfume!
Flowers, bring sunshine into your life,
no matter how bad you may feel, just
being surrounded with beautiful flowers,
can chase away any ordeal. They can
make a room come alive, with it’s
colorful flow, it fills a room with so much
warmth, you can actually see the glow!
Whenever there’s flowers adorning a
room, take the time, to admire their
beauty and grace. There’s nothing
lovelier than fresh cut flowers, on a
table, it’s guaranteed, to put that
smile, back on your face!
