Richardson’s Geranium Abstract — Image by kenne

We are all hungry and thirsty for concrete images.
Abstract art will have been good for one thing:
to restore its exact virginity to figurative art.

— Salvador Dali

There is no abstract art.

You must always start with something.

Afterward, you can remove all traces of reality.

Yesterday’s the past,

tomorrow’s the future,

but today is a gift.

That’s why it’s called the present.

The Tao of Blu   2 comments

Abstract of Joy by kenne

The Tao of Blu

Blu, is not definable
yet very recognizable
earth, life, feeling,
existing in the naked soul

layers of perceptions
clothed for definition
obliged to remove
to connect with Blu

Blu is natural
as flowing water
if you think
you are connecting

to experience Blu,
let go
for what is Blu
depends on Yu

Ideas Bloom Where Planted

Yet not the first,
planting ideas
generates a new beginning
forming the orientation
of the next
creating a path
for others to follow.

A Day When I Am Among The Trees   1 comment

Morning Sun Through The Trees — Photo-artistry by kenne

When I Am Among The Trees

When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.

I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.

Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.

And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”

The White Dove Of The Desert

Imagine this:

Stranger
On horseback

Dark flowing rode
Moving in the breeze

Crossing
The desert southwest

Entering
The village of the

Desert people –
Tohono O’odham

Friendly people

Bonding
With the stranger –

Father Kino
Jesuit priest

Establishing
Third mission —

(Twenty-four total)

Upon which
The current church

Was built
Century later

Reflecting
Baroque architecture

Blossoming
In the desert blue sky

The White Dove
Of the Desert.

Is it so small a thing

To have enjoyed the sun,

To have lived light in the spring,

To have loved, to have thought, to have done;

To have advanced true friends, and beat down baffling foes?
