Nude On the Deck — Sketch Art by kenne
there’s a strange relief
in having nothing left to hide behind—
no fabric excuses,
no polite disguises.
you feel the air touch everything,
like truth finally got tired of knocking
and kicked the damn door in.
they’ll call it indecent.
hell, they call everything real indecent.

Morning In The Window Light — Photo-artistry by kenne
In the hush of morning,
she sits nude in the window light,
a hand mirror lifted
like a small sun in her palm.
She leans toward her reflection,
steady, unhurried,
painting soft lines of color
onto the canvas of her face.
Day waits beyond the glass,
but here she paints
her first quiet claim upon it—
in light,
in stillness,
in her own beginning.
In The Moment — Photo-artistry by kenne
I search for the realness,
the real feeling of a subject,
all the texture around it…
I always want to see
the third dimension of something…
I want to come alive with the object.

Topless Blues At Drifters — Photo-artistry by kenne
I am a drifter, and as lonely as that can be, it is also remarkably freeing.
I will never define myself in terms of anyone else.

Art can never exist without naked beauty displayed.

“Body of an Old Man Sitting Under the Stars” — Photo-Artistry by kenne
“There was only our bodies, born to live and die on terms decided by the bodies
that had lived and died before us. If he could be said to have located
a philosophical niche for himself, that was it – he’d come upon it early and intuitively,
and however elemental, that was the whole of it.”
— from Everyman by Philip Roth

the Joy of looking
looking through the looking glass
mise en abyme
“In its Greek meaning, the verb “to see” incarnates theoretical man,
an omnidirectional ball of open eyes.
What purpose does theory serve?
The surveillance of relations, or the examination of objects?”
– Michel Serres, “Panoptic Theory”
Afternoon Delight — Image by kenne
I’ve been here before
known this place
walked this floor
lived here alone
before, I knew you.
You became my
photographic muse
an afternoon delight
laying on a bed of red
shadows of natural light.
Blue, blue windows
opened to the sky
clouds move by
casting moments
to dream by.
Morning would come
roosters crowing
at the break of dawn
sheets still damp
moments to live by.
Imagine yesterday’s
times we’ve shared
becoming memories
fueling our tomorrows
filled with timeless love.
Now, everyone can see
you belong to me
knowing it’s so
hard to love, still
we share the look
of satisfaction.

Her Smile — Image by kenne
(Inspired by our time today at the Fine Arts Museum in Houston.)
Her smile
extrudes the surface
becoming an attraction
to the distraction.

“Nightlight Dreams” Grunge Art by kenne
Nightlight Dreams
past, resisting replay
but for stardust of yesterdays
yesterdays, imparting time and place
gently massaging forgotten dreams
dreams, giving clues to
my stardust memories
memories, fading for now
only reborn to imagination
imagination, touching the soul
engaging new moments
moments, experiencing rapture
in the joy of our love
love, living yesterday’s stardust
the music of today’s legends
legends, lighting our essence
upon which the future exist.
