Shades Of Gray   3 comments

Shades of Gray — Computer Painting by kenne

In Spinoza’s eye
the body is not carved in light
or swallowed in darkness,
but lives in shades of gray—
a continuum of motion,
substance unfolding
without division.

No soul above,
no flesh below,
only parallel lines
where thought and body
trace the same curve.

Each gesture,
each ache,
each quiet breath—
a necessary note
in the gray music
of existence.

Morning In The Window Light   2 comments

Morning In The Window Light — Photo-artistry by kenne

In the hush of morning,
she sits nude in the window light,
a hand mirror lifted
like a small sun in her palm.

She leans toward her reflection,
steady, unhurried,
painting soft lines of color
onto the canvas of her face.

Day waits beyond the glass,
but here she paints
her first quiet claim upon it—
in light,
in stillness,
in her own beginning.

Tanuri Ridge Sunset Computer Painting — Image by kenne

Evening comes slowly,
a patient hand across the desert sky.
Tanuri Ridge lifts its quiet spine
against the last of the light,
trees and shadows holding their place
as the horizon begins to burn.

The sun spills its final colors—
deep amber,
rose drifting into violet,
a breath of gold dissolving into silence.
Every hue lingers longer than the last,
as though the sky is unwilling to let go.

On the screen,
a digital brush gathers the moment,
stroke after stroke shaping what fades.
Pixels remember
what the eye can only witness once.

Here, in painted light,
the sunset does not vanish—
it stays suspended,
a meditation on time,
a stillness made visible,
a horizon that never fully darkens.

Dark Clouds Over the Canyon

A brushstroke of black
against the storm-heavy sky,
the raven ascends.

Wings carve through silence,
bold ink on a canvas stretched
above ancient stone.

Below, the canyon
holds its breath beneath the weight
of gathering dusk.

In the hush of wind,
art is flight without a frame—
wild, unwritten truth.

Mexican Yellow Butterfly on Mexican Bird of Paradise — Photo-artistry by kenne

Yellow wings hover,
on blooms of flame and sunlight—
desert joy takes flight.

Petals hold the breeze,
while gold sips from burning red—
summer tastes of fire.

Angry Raven

Dark flash on the limb—
he jerks, flares, and squawks aloud
like sky has betrayed.

No wind, no rival,
just the weight of summer heat
pressing on black wings.

He scolds the silence,
each cry a sharp-edged protest
hurled at empty air.

Then—sudden stillness.
Even his shadow seems mad,
shaking on the limb.

Prickly Pear Fruit

Haloed in late sun,
the fruit blushes deep magenta—
light caught in velvet skin.

A single thorn,
sharp as memory,
guards the softness within.

Captured through lens and color,
not just a cactus—
but a flame paused mid-bloom.

Wings of rust and grace—

Queen drifts over desert hush,

crowned by heat and light.

Love Birds — Photo-artistry  by kenne

Life Is a Poem

Life is a poem, not written in lines,
but walked in winds, in roots, in signs—
in acts that echo canyon walls,
in leaps, in loss, in sudden calls.

Not crafted solely out of speech,
but in the places words can’t reach—
the morning’s hush, the falling rain,
the joy that rises after pain.

I move through days like verse unfolds,
not always neat, not always told.
Yet something vast moves deep within—
a rhythm wide as where I’ve been.

And so I walk, and so I try,
to live in tune with earth and sky—
each breath, each step, a sacred part
of that great poem beyond the heart.

White, pink, green in bloom—

Shadows hold their breath,

walls remember every name—

no voice answers back.

Moon-pale petals breathe,
desert hush holds their perfume—
one night, then they fall.

Petals like sunflakes,

spilled across the desert floor—

Thurber’s silent cheer.
