Rain Clouds At Sunset — Image by kenne
rain clouds at sunset
talk of rain coming
creeks and washes dry
talk of rain coming
maybe not today
talk of rain coming
maybe tomorrow
talk of rain coming
rain clouds without rain
talk of rain coming
talk of rain coming
talk. . .

Sun Breaking Through Mountain Clouds — Photo-Artistry by kenne
The gray clouds of December
bring winter rains to the desert,
snow to the mountains high.
At day’s end, the sun shines through
just in time for Friday’s happy hour
at the Monsoon Bar in Tucson.
Street flooding begins to drain away
still deep enough to splash walkers
now freed from the day-long rains.

“After The Rain” — Images by kenne
“The weather here is windy, balmy, sometimes wet.
Desert springtime,
with flowers popping up all over the place,
trees leafing out, streams gushing down from the mountains.
Great time of year for hiking, camping, exploring,
sleeping under the new moon and the old stars.
At dawn and at evening
we hear the coyotes howling with excitement –
mating season.
And lots of fresh rabbit meat
hopping about to feed the young ones with.”

After The Desert Rain Photo Essay by kenne
Sixty days, no rain —
Now the desert is refreshed,
Colors express thanks.
It’s been a long time,
An openess of the heart
To get what we see.
Smell the creosote
The morning after a rain,
Now I’m at my peak,

A gentle rain coats the dry desert. Capturing such moments in the desert is dramatic only for those thrusting rain. — Image by kenne
Desert Rain
Rain softly drapes
the trees
flowers
streets
and
the city sleeps…
Then morning embraces the desert
in shivery hugs, misty kisses and dewy smiles
and a passionate shower of raindrops
the city awakes.
