Bright Colors of the Season — Image by kenne
I walk through the bright colors of the season,
fire-red leaves falling like words
I once meant to say.
The mountain exhales—
a slow, last sigh.
Somewhere below,
a stream folds light into its cold hands,
and I remember what forgiveness feels like.

Aspen Trail On Mt. Lemmon — Image by kenne
Yellow is the hush before the wind,
the trembling song of what must change.
On the Aspen Trail,
each leaf a coin of sunlight spent wisely—
then let go.

Fall Colors — Mixed Art by kenne
Copper leaf on wind,
a brushstroke of sky—
Some of it painted,
some of it dying—
each color honest.
The canvas breathes—
sap, soil, rust, light—
and somewhere in the layers
the world remembers
how to let go.

Aspen Trail In The Autumn on Mt. Lemmon — Image by kenne
“Just an hour north of Tucson, Mount Lemmon offers a refreshing fall escape in the Santa Catalina Mountains.
As travelers ascend the scenic Catalina Highway, the magical saguaros give way to towering pines and maples,
their leaves ablaze with red and orange hues. At 9,000 feet, Mount Lemmon provides a cool retreat from the desert,
perfect for hiking among the vibrant autumn colors. Outdoor lovers can explore the Aspen and Marshall Gulch trails,
surrounded by vivid fall foliage.”

Autumn In Sabino Canyon — Panorama by kenne
Oh, good gigantic smile o’ the brown old earth,
This autumn morning! How he sets his bones
To bask i’ the sun, and thrusts out knees and feet
For the ripple to run over in its mirth;
Listening the while, where on the heap of stones
The white breast of the sea-lark twitters sweet.
That is the doctrine, simple, ancient, true;
Such is life’s trial, as old earth smiles and knows.
If you loved only what were worth your love,
Love were clear gain, and wholly well for you:
Make the low nature better by your throes!
Give earth yourself, go up for gain above!

Autumn Song
— Dante Gabriel Rossetti
Know’st thou not at the fall of the leaf
How the heart feels a languid grief
Laid on it for a covering,
And how sleep seems a goodly thing
In Autumn at the fall of the leaf?
And how the swift beat of the brain
Falters because it is in vain,
In Autumn at the fall of the leaf
Knowest thou not? and how the chief
Of joys seems—not to suffer pain?
Know’st thou not at the fall of the leaf
How the soul feels like a dried sheaf
Bound up at length for harvesting,
And how death seems a comely thing
In Autumn at the fall of the leaf?
