life in gratitude.

Today I read about someone who keeps a “gratitude journal” and thought, “What a great idea?”
Continuing the thought, I concluded that I already keep a gratitude journal, this blog.
Life is a gift. Each day is filled with blessings — just by posting daily, I’m able to express gratitude.

Standing In The Grandeur Of The Sun’s Halo   6 comments

MMM 02-04-13Image by kenne

Once an icon of the desert,
A majestic symbol
Of nature’s ability
To gather strength
From less
In a world
Where slow
Is the best way
To get things done.

Taking time to nurture
Its being,
Gathering strength
From its becoming.

Two centuries
In the making,
Still standing
In the grandeur
Of the sun’s halo,
Conveying meaning
In the eyes of the force.

Expectations   1 comment

Abstract Art by kenne

Expectations

Who are you,
you who share
my very existence
with your expectations,
sometimes calling them
traditions,
placing more value
on the worth
of your expectations,
unwilling to understand
neither the what
nor the why
of my very being.

Who am I,
I who share
your very existence
with my expectations,
sometimes calling them
logical
placing more value
on the worth of my expectations,
unwilling to understand
neither the what
nor the why
of your very being.

Who are we,
we who share
a finite existence
with our expectations,
sometimes calling them
unconditional
placing more value
on the worth of our expectations
unwilling to understand
neither the what
nor the why
of a finite being.

Who are they,
they who share
our very existence
with their expectations,
sometimes calling them
laws
placing more value
on the worth of their expectations
unwilling to understand
neither the what
nor the why
of our very being.

Who are We
We who share
an infinite existence
with our expectations,
sometimes calling them
spiritual
placing more value
on the worth of all expectations
willing to understand
both the what
and the why
of a universal being.

Life Beyond The Bowl   3 comments

LIFE DEMANDS UNITY AND CONNECTION

Once there was a goldfish who lived in a small bowl, from which she could see the world around her.  So much was going on in her world, yet she was limited to a view of inside looking out. Puzzled by her restricted access to her world, she lone to reach its outer limits – to know life beyond her glass skin. If only she could go outside her inside being. Looking above, there was no glass – an opening to the boundless world.  Someday she would jump through the opening, making the whole world kin, multiplying her being.

Life beyond my skin
Bath in kinship with strangers
Breaking the law of being
