There was much to do on the Sandos Playacar Beach without going into the water.
Chase charges dad, Justin
and both went down.
James looks inside the giant rolling ball before climbing in.
After rolling inside the ball, James exists.

Jason and Chase share the same side.
Too much sun in the heat and humidity of the day can lead to heat stroke,
which is what happened to Jason. After playing several hours with much younger players
and possibly not staying hydrated enough, Jason (48 years young)
had to be taken to the hospital for a short stay. He was much better the next day.

Going through some old photos, I found some I took at a 2002 Fotofest event, State of the Blues.
Since we were recently in Houston visiting family, I thought this would be an appropriate time to revisit the State of The Blues.

These guys could be seen all around the grounds of the Playacar Resort running from bush to bush.

After a few days on the beach, the jungle on down the shoreline peaked my interest,
so I left the beach scenery for the jungle scenery.
It wasn’t long before the shoreline became challenging big boulders alone the shore inhabited by a lot of lizards.
(Note the lizard on the near boulder.)

As I climbed over the boulders I kept looking for a path into the jungle.
Finally there was an opening, but not much of a path.
In addition to thick growth and debris, there was a fence adding to my passage into the jungle.
Other than seeing a lot of lizards, my attempt to go into the the jungle on my own was uneventful.
So, I headed back to the beach scene.

One of our family group experiences while at Playa del Carmen was spending a day at Xplor Park.
Climbing all the zip-line towers in the heat and humidity was a challenge.
But, we were able to cool off in the underground river activities.
