Yard Lamp (April 11, 2009) Photo-Artistry by kenne

The earth drinks people and their loves
like wine, in order to forget.
But I drink wine to remember.

I collect memories the way some collect coins.
The memories fade like constellations at dawn.
Until the next glass of wine.

Let anyone that has
an eye for beauty
take a view of the thistle.

Its grace and symmetry
will but complement
a string of pearls near

her exposed cleavage
to which we share
music and a glass of wine.

Balloon Landing — Images by kenne

On Sunday, June 5, 2011, Jeri, Joy and I took a little break from family activities, and Virginia’s 87th birthday, to take in one day of the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival, northeast of San Diego. While still a little under the weather, I was able to capture some the of festival favor, albeit early on a Sunday morning.
This was our second visit to this beautiful southern California wine country. Our first visit was two years ago during our trip to take part in Virginia’s 85th birthday.
The festival highlights a region that has become a destination of natural beauty, delicious food and wine and balloons floating above the beautiful rolling hills of vineyards.
Some of the images can be viewed in a slideshow in my Flickr account. The video below makes use of photos capturing the deflating of one of the festival balloons.
