I fly to the “Flight of the Bumblebee”

I dance to “Shout”

I sing to “The Power of Love”

I live to the “Songs of Life”

I create to “Kind of Blue”

“The right notes can fertilize
the sound of a composition
that it can make the sound grow;
much like adding lemon
to fish or vegetables
that bring out the flavor.
That it’s your sweat.”

“You know you make me wanna (Shout!)”   Leave a comment

Marvin Isley, the youngest of the Isley Brothers, past away Sunday, bringing back many memories, especially from the 50’s and 60’s. Talk about your R&B! Talk about your doo-wop! Talk about your soul! Talk about your funk and you can’t help but talk about the Isley Brothers. For those of us growing up in the 50’s, they have provided a lifetime of great music and memories, starting with the classic, “Shout.” Talk about getting the blood moving a high school senior!
