Saguaro Sunrise In Sabino Canyon — Image by kenne
At first light
the saguaro rises,
its many arms lifted
like a dynamic congregation.
In Sabino Canyon
the sun spills over ridges,
and each arm throws
a separate shadow—
a forest of silhouettes
born from a single body.
The desert floor
becomes a canvas of shade,
lines stretching,
splitting,
merging again,
as if the giant were painting
its own story in silence.

The Tree of Forgiveness
sun setting beyond
the shoulders of
mountain gods
ducks swimming
in shadows of
togetherness
two aging souls
musing
dark nights past
sensing
a perceptual edge
in the present
voices grow louder
alongside
sounds of future’s
silence
standing beneath
the tree of
forgiveness
where the gods
take pity
revealing hope
without retreat

A Song of Silence
Music is
what enables you
in your work,
soothes you
when you rest
reminds you
of images past
of dreams yet fulfilled.
It is not the words,
nor the beat,
nor the instruments,
nor the relationships.
It is the rhythm
of the moments,
composed by the
silence in between.
