Somewhere In Northwest Arizona   1 comment

Christmas 2012 10-Northwest Arizona-Edit-1-art-72.jpgA Monument Somewhere In Northwest Arizona — Photo-Artistry by kenne

In all the photos I have taken over the years,

I may never have found myself in them,

but I have always discovered myself there.

Monument To A Forest Fire   3 comments

Brunt Trees (1 of 1)_Art blogMonument to a Forest Fire (2002 Bullock Fire, Santa Catalina Mountains)– Image by kenne

I walk the mountain trails
where colorful flowers grow
along magical paths
for me to follow.

Over head the sun shines brightly
warming my skin in the cool breeze
as the tall grasses
sway back and forth.

Scattered clouds begin to congregate,
cool raindrops fall on my face
while quenching the thirst
of earth’s plants and animals.

The clouds grow darker
as the lightning thunder
shares the mountain sound stage
with the wind blowing through the trees.

Animals seek shelter in the forest
running from the lightning
striking the dry forest floor
leaving behind fire sound effects.

Nature’s Monument — Let It Shine   4 comments

Let It Shine

Morning awakens the light
Slowly stirring the heart
Revived from the sleeping night
By a singing meadowlark.

Accounting for the moment
Can we ever know
How age built a monument
From what it doesn’t show?

I don’t mind
As long as you know
I will make it shine
By allowing time to slow.
