A Fall Lupine On Mt. Lemmon — Image by kenne
Sunlight shines through the shade
Of a mixed-conifer forest canopy
Spotlighting a beautiful lupine
Not commonly seen this time of year.
Hikers begin using their smart-phones
Eager to capture to share with friends
On their social media pages
Minus the beauty of being there.

Chicory — Image by kenne
Come search the desert for wildflowers . . .
Morning bride and paperflower
Wishbone four o’clock
Desert lavender
And lupine,
Flaunting in their bowers;
Brittlebush with green flag half-mast high,
Succor to match the cotton clouds,
Poppies dotting the mountain slopes,
Scented creosote and lace pod mustard
Desert full of essences
Fit for fairy presences . . .
— my desert take on Ralph Waldo Emerson’s, Nature (fragments on nature)

Desert Chicory and Desert Lupine Share A Rocky Place — Image by kenne
Sharing a place
part of nature’s design,
yet by accident.
Was it a random act,
part of a grand experiment
of how nature works
On a stage
where all things
play out in space and time?
Maybe,
but for the moment,
it’s all about now
That gives us
beautiful wildflowers
blooming every spring.
