Just as the snow was melting,
I stumbled upon a desert trail
Free of snow-covered brush.
A trail beaten by foot and hoof,
Warmer than the air above
A winding path near the wash.
Providing a picture of contrasts,
To which the passing eye catches
Creating an image for the painter.
