Monsoon Blues
July mornings begin
With a beautiful blue sky.
This is the monsoon season,
So by mid-day, the clouds
Begin to move in,
Again and again
Only to move on
Dropping rain
Somewhere else —
The drought continues.

In the desert you long and long for rain, though in Door County, Wisconsin, even we are wishing for rain right now, an unusual circumstance.
