Two Ravens in The Olive Tree — Image by kenne

The Raven Always Listens

The raven always listens
to the wind—
a language older
than feather or bone.

Beside him,
his mate tilts her head,
black eyes catching
what cannot be seen.

Together they perch
on the edge of silence,
hearing the world
move through the air,

two shadows bound
by the endless song
of the wind.
