Raven Leaving Palm Tree — Image by kenne

“Departure”

A raven rests on fronded throne,
Where desert winds through palm have blown.
Its feathers ink against the sky,
A secret kept where shadows lie.

No caw, no cry, just silent grace,
It lifts into the sunlit space.
From tropic green to open blue,
It leaves the tree—and me—askew.

A parting like a whispered charm,
Dark wings retreating into calm.
And in its flight, the silence grew,
As if the palm now mourned it too.
