This painted lady butterfly maybe migrating from Mexico or has spent the winter in southern Arizona. Regardless, this little lady has decided to land on the side of a rock on the Romero Pools Trail in the Pusch Ridge area of the Santa Catalina Mountains. This time of year, by midday most butterflies appear not to be spending time stopping, but rather passing through, making them difficult to photograph. So, when one lands we take advantage of the moment — happy travels my little friend.
