“The Road Goes On And On Into The Sunset”  —  Image by kenne

A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon

and then dripped over and was gone,

and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone,

and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag,

hung over the spot of its going.

And dusk crept over the sky from the eastern horizon,

and darkness crept over the land from the east.

  4. Wow! This means so much to me … I miss Tucson, I miss its mountains, its colors, its sky. They say grass is greener on the other side. I know for a fact that Tucson skies are bluer and truer. Thanks for the poem and the picture too.

  5. Beautiful…and somewhat heartbreaking, too. Such is life.
