Bougainvillea Time of The Year — Image by kenne

Every morning now
the bougainvillea glows—
a lantern in daylight.

How does it hold so much pink,
so much flame?

I touch one fallen bract on the ground
and feel the whole season
lean closer, whispering:

remember this brightness.

  1. Hi Kenne, Your poetry and photography are wonderful. Thanks and I hope you continue for as long as you can.

    • Thank you. I plan on continuing what I enjoy doing, but the hiking has stoped and my participation in SCVN has almost come to a stop. I hope you are well, and please stay in touch.
