San Xavier Mission – Side Entrance

Worn stone beneath sunlit sky,
a quiet door where shadows lie.

Not the grand, gold-gilded face,
but a hush-filled, sacred place.

Pigeons coo from clay-white walls,
cracked and strong through centuries’ calls.

Wind slides in with whispered grace,
as time slows down in this still space.

Here, the faithful stepped aside,
seeking shade and strength inside.

A humble arch, half in light—
faith not loud, but burning bright.

  1. Your share portrays the beauty and uniqueness of this location. I love visiting there. 🙏🏻

  2. A fantastic rendering in black & white.
Ever since I read Karl May’s “Der Oelprinz” I have wanted to visit that mission. Maybe some time.
