On this 4th of July morning, I observed a Cooper’s Hawk bathing in our patio fountain.
Many birds drink from the fountain and occasionally will splash water on themselves.
However, this morning was the first time I witnessed a hawk bathing in the water.

Tooooooo cool! Remind me, does your birdbath have a fountain or a trickle of water movement, or is it just still water? Some birds seem to be drawn to the trickle, others seem to want it completely calm. Thanks for sharing!
The fountain is a boy and girl pouring water into a small shell from which three trickles fall into a much larger shell, (what the hawk was bathing in) on a pedestal.
