Desert Colors
The warmest year on record
finally experienced a hard freeze
on a clear December night
when the cold mountain air
pushed aside months of hot desert air —
cold enough to bring out the autumn colors
of the cottonwoods and sycamores
near the Tanque Verde wash
on this last day of 2017.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Beautiful look with autumn colors. In Ohio the hills are covered with snow and it is up to 14* from an overnight -2*.
We have family and friends in the northeast and they are freezing—stay warm.
Best of New Years, Ken! 🙂 It’ll be -14 F here tonight. I fed the little birds in the backyard.
We are still here, that’s what counts.
Wishing you the best 2018 on your creative journey
