This area experience a wildfire several years ago. Signs still stand as grass and other desert plants slowly take hold. This time of year everything is dry and windy. There will probably not be any rain between now and the summer monsoon, which normally begins in July. Hopeful, this area will not experience another wildfire.

I love the depth of the colors!!
Dryness can be beautiful, but the winds are up and there have two wildfires in souther AZ the last two days — both under control.
We had some wildfires on our property in Humbolt County, CA. (Forest, not desert.) The fires were before our time there, but the combination of charred tree trunks and branches, grasses, and vines growing back was profoundly moving in ways that are hard to describe. Now that you have me thinking about this, I will have to explore it in writing.
