While hiking the trail to Hutch’s Pools in the Santa Catalina Mountains, fern and moss plants have turned the ground green because of recent rains. This image was captured at about the 4,00 foot level yesterday. I could have spent much of the day photographing these beautiful plants, but our purpose was hiking.

Beautiful! One of my favorite times in the desert was after a rain when plants surprised you on every bend. In a few days, blossoms would appear that were a beautiful finishing touch to the scene painted by Mother Nature.
It’s always amazing what a little water can do. Desert plants have a way of showing their appreciation.
