Chapel Dulcinea sits daringly on the edge of an ancient walking trail on the
Wizard Academy campus, approximately 20 minutes southwest of downtown Austin.
The chapel was new when we first visited Wizard Academy in 2005.
This summer Jerri and Justin had scheduled their wedding at the Chapel Dulcinea,
but because of COVID, it didn’t happen, even after rescheduling a couple of times.
I had prepared this post to go out before the June wedding. The wedding
did take place in east Texas this summer, but we were not able to attend.
Too bad their wedding was not able to be at Chapel Dulcinea; it’s a beautiful place
in the Texas Hill Country.

Gathering The Fragments Of Life 3 comments

If we believe that ”becoming is superior to being,” then the process of becoming is that of “gathering up the fragments,” so that we may become whole. Whatever has been broken, whatever has been missing, whatever has been disconnected, whatever has been lost, needs to be gathered.
As in the universe, all fragments dance in harmony as we move forward in time. Nothing is truly ever lost. We either choose not to see them, or the original act has crossed beyond the horizon. Either way, these fragments are no longer a part of what we may perceive to be real. We can change this perception by allowing what we see to include the eyes of others. For Roy H. Williams (Wizard Academy) looking through the eyes of others we are able to see the world as it truly is, a bright mosaic.
Bright mosaics are made
from gathered fragments.
Broken. Colorful. Unique.
Just like the pattern of your life.
Negotiate your broken places.
They allow for new connections.
Appreciate the weirdness of your past.
It adds color to your future.
Celebrate your personal heritage.
It beats the hell out of whining.
The cookie crumbs are as important as the cookie.

“No One Told Me I Could Write” Leave a comment

Some four years ago, Joy and I spent a day at the Wizard Academy outside Austin. Since that time we have been on Roy William’s mailing list, allowing us to follow the many offerings of the business, marketing and writing institution. While there, we were entertained by two young men, “Peter and Paul.” Paul’s a very skilled musician and Peter — well Peter is a bundle of creative energy that completely captures your attention, as if caught off guard, causing one to wonder what will be coming at you next. As Roy WIlliams has stated; “…hearing Peter perform is like … taking a running leap off the rim of the Grand Canyon with your hands tied behind your back so that the only way to pull the parachute’s ripcord is with your toes.”
We have not had a chance to see Peter since that 2006 July, however I have followed him through his “Spoken Groove” newsletters, web site and YouTube. Here’s one video current on his web site.
