Pipevine Swallowtail on Common Lantana Blossom — Image by kenne

Midday heat shimmers—
a flash of velvet and blue
glides through desert light.

Drawn to lantana,
clustered in careless color,
the pipevine hovers.

Wings like falling dusk
sip from the bloom’s orange fire—
grace in full stillness.

  2. Beautiful pictures! Can you tell me if the Northeast Welcome Wagon Friday with Friends still exists?

    • Hi Maureen.
Im responding to your question to Kenne Turner (my husband) about Welcome Wagon. we are now called Old Pueblo Women’s Club. Currently, we do not still gather for Friday with Friends. However, we have many new activities such as Happy Hours either at places around town or in members homes. if you would like a list of activity opportunities, my email is joyotrey@gmail.com. Our membership chair is Diane O’Rourke at dizdiz333@yahoo.com. Either of us will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

  3. Fittingly framed as your photos are works of art. 🦋 Lovely verse, thank you.
