Standing or sitting
the parade goes by.
Children screaming
their laughter rings.
One time she did the same
now an emptiness from
which joy comes producing
flashbacks in her mine.
If she wrote poems, they
would reach helplessly
towards forever-lost pasts
only to glimpse the future.
