In our recent hike on the Oracle Trail on Mt. Lemmon, we noticed a lot of agaves in bloom. Although the flower is beautiful, the agave blooms only once, then dies. The timing of our hike may not have been good for most wildflowers; however, it was perfect for observing these brilliant red blooms and capturing their moment. Fantastic photos. These remind me of the Canary Islands, and La Palma in particular, but I haven’t seen them blooming like this. Spectacular!

Thanks. They are beautiful, but I hate to see the complete plant die after putting forth such beauty.
