Right here with ya! Several points: HP add is great; makes me want to sit in the sun, drink beer and blast Beethoven over the loud speakers. Also, I want to know what happened when the kid and his bike came back to Earth in the picture below. Wow! And: Joy is right about the poem being depressing unless you are a carpet bagger–then it is a sweet seranade.
As for the kid, he is meant to symbolize that California Dreaming will always be a part of the California landscape, until reality sets in and you fall back to earth — then it all depends on where you land as to whether the dream becomes a nightmare.
