Nature Photography For Middle School Students   6 comments

For five years I have taught nature photography to seventh-grade students as part of a “Science Day” in Sabino Canyon. I recently received some thank you notes, and a few are shared here.

Thank you for teaching us about photography and how it is supposed to reflect us.

Thank you so much for volunteering to teach us about photography!
I learned a lot about finding things in nature to photograph,
and I will definitely use it in the future!

Thank you for teaching us how to take awesome pics,
I showed my mom, she says it cool.

Of all the classes I took part in during my time in the hummingbird course,
your photography walk was by far my favorite.
I started photography when I was about 8,
and being able to take photos in Sabino was a privilege.
I will definitely remember what you taught us. Thank you!

You have taught me a lot between life and photography.
I have learned the relationship between philosophy and photography.

Thank you for teaching us so much about the environment in Sabino Canyon
and how to look for something to photograph in the canyon.
Thank you for spending your time with us instead of being around
a group of non-disruptive people.

You were so thoughtful and had a lot of knowledge.
You were also super funny, and fun to learn and hike with.

Thank you for volunteering your time for us to have a better experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed your photography lesson and advice.
Thank you for teaching me to capture the moment
in nature with a photo and that photo being “yourself.”
