Early morning hike
Alone the east canyon wall
In chilly shadows.
Talking to old friends
“Snowbirds” returned from the north
Getting back their legs.
November showers
The canyon is greening up
Wildflowers in blown.
Trees along the creek
Are showing their fall colors
Red, yellow, orange.
Of leaves twisting down
We return along the creek
No more tangled minds.
