Artist, Nancy Parsons

Poet, Dave Parsons
Back in July I posted and entry on the six-week western road trip Nancy and Dave Parsons were taking from the Texas gulf coast to Montana. They are now back in Conroe, Texas with pockets full of memories. The July posting noted that Nancy was keeping a blog journal and encouraged everyone to follow their adventures. Nancy has done all of us, who chose to follow them, a service surpassed only by riding in the “jump-seat.” Her photos, paintings and words reflect the true artist she is, and is worthy of a book — maybe a memoir, which Nancy and Dave could do in collaboration. I’m sure there is so much more that could be shared.
So, Nancy and Dave, “thanks for the memory,” for all that you have shared, the talent you have effectively use, your purpose of task and although beauty does appear everywhere, it takes an artist to give it a stage — Thanks!

Nancy Parsons, out on the road.

Nancy and Dave Parsons possess the kind of spirit most people may dream about, or read about, but few live it. Now into their 17th day of a road trip through the great American west that will last approximately 42 days, these two artists are gathering some of life’s moments to share through their artistic eyes and skills.
Thanks to Nancy’s sense of duty and obedience to life, we are able to share some of their experiences as they “head on down the highway . . .” painting, writing and photographing the Parson’s America. Each day, Nancy has been posting entries on her blog, “Head on down the highway . . .” I love checking her blog each day!

Carry on, we will meet Nancy and Dave somewhere down the road.
