Tubac is southern Arizona’s Artist Colony and the first European Settlement in Arizona, founded in 1752. This small artist community is located in the Santa Cruz River Valley has over eighty galleries and shops. Joy and I took her sisters (Jody and Jeri) and their mother (Virginia) forty-five miles south of Tucson peruse the shops, after which we had coffee in a local bookstore and coffee shop. It is very likely that we will be returning in October for southern Arizona’s largest outdoor jazz festival.Posted July 23, 2010 by kenneturner in Art, Capturing the Moment, Family, Life, Photography
