A Cloumn Of Memory   Leave a comment

Standing Rock in Arches National Park — Image by kenne

Alone it rises—
a column of memory
etched by time and storm,
sandstone bones
lifted from silence.

Once part of mountain
now a sentinel—
its shadow stretched thin
on red earth,
marking the hours
with ancient patience.

Wind has carved its voice away,
but still it speaks
in shape and stillness—
a hymn to gravity,
to letting go slowly,
to standing,
even as the world
falls grain by grain.
