Always so tempting,
like the daughters
of the mountain god
tempting me to climb
down the narrow ravine,
I walked by
talking to myself
hoping to not hear
the music of
my mountain muse.
We hiked miles
before I decided
to photograph
another columbine,
attracted by the sound
of the nearby stream
providing background vocals,
as sun rays kissed
her golden lips.
