I once stood upon a mountain top
And felt the wind that wouldn’t stop
I held a rock forever old
Heard all its stories left untold
It’s cape of green laid out below
The rainstorm coming grey and slow
High above the world I knew
Surrounded by a sea deep and blue
When I climbed down the stone remained
My own life’s story deep ingrained
The thistles prick, the golden sun
The painted hills are all now done
And though I left a piece behind
I took the mountain, in my mind
