I’ve watched you now a full half-hour;
Self-poised upon that yellow flower
And, little Butterfly!  Indeed
I know not if you sleep or feed.
How motionless! – not frozen seas
More motionless! and then
What joy awaits you, when the breeze
Hath found you out among the trees,
And calls you forth again!

~William Wordsworth, “To a Butterfly”

  1. Such beautiful pictures of the butterflies! Wow. Amazing. I could have used one of those for my newest poem, “Butterfly Sanctuary” yesterday. Please take a look and leave comments!

  2. Lovely photos!

  3. Amazing…

  4. Wonderful photos! I also have many butterflies enjoying my Mexican Bird of Paradise bushes – it must be a popular flower for the butterfly.

  5. Kenne, I am so pleased to have discovered this blog of a fellow photographer and adventurer. I find it fabulous with lovely images, a perfect mix of content and great quotes/videos. What I especially enjoy is how you have paired many of the photos with your own moving and thoughtful prose. Your words and work are a delight and I look forward to returning each week to see what’s new. Many thanks.

    It’s early August, but many of the butterflies in this late August 2012 are out in our neighborhood. Because of the July monsoon rains there maybe even more later this month.Time to enjoy! — kenne
