This month will have two full moons, August 2nd and August 31st. The second full moon is rare. When people say “once in a blue moon” they are speaking to the rare occurrence of a second moon happening in the same given month.

I love the moon cycles. When the kids were little, there was a blue moon on Halloween. I remember walking around the neighborhood with them thinking the next blue moon, they could be walking around with their own kids!! Beautiful shot.
Once in a blue moon something good comes along. May you have many blue moons in your lifetime!
