SUNSETS, SUNRISES
You marvel at the sunrise
as the cock crows,
I will marvel at the sunset
as the great horn owl calls.
You can take one,
I will take the other.
Inspired by the “and”
not the “or”–
the beauty of each
framed in the eyes
of the beholder.
Each a snapshot
captured in time,
hanging on yesterday’s walls —
a measure of life’s splendor,
harnessing tomorrow’s inspiration.

Clouds come floating into my life,
no longer to carry rain or usher storm,
but to add color to my sunset sky.
