A View from the Stands

Excitement is in the air,
transplanted from the cold,
arriving without a care,
hearts warmed, young and old.

A tip of the hat,
the shout, “Play ball!”
A swing of the bat,
only to question the call.

Is there any doubt?
Not from true fans
who can call, “Out!” —
from high in the stands.
