People in the Indian state of Meghalaya have been growing (not building) bridges for more than 500 years by guiding roots and vines from the native Ficus Elastica (rubber tree) across rivers. It may take ten to fifteen years to become fully functional. Amazing! Yet, it’s not so amazing when you value the relationship of people and nature.

It is fanantastic-very nice day
Absolutely amazing! I also watched severa more videos in the group, so I could learn more. How cool is a living bridge, right on par with using wind and geothermal power. Also, though a bit different, making one’s home in a tree instead of from a tree. Well, something I have had a romantic notion about is having an art studio in a tree, where I could raise the ladder if I wanted seclusion. ( big grin) “Oh, wouldn’t that be loverly?”
You should use your artistic skills to do a “Living Bridge.” I can see it now!
