Joy and I will be moving to Tucson around the 20th of June. The plans have been in the works for a while now and things are have really picked up speed now that we have a contract on our house, with a closing date of the 18th. We will miss our friends, neighbors and family located here in the Houston area, but we will be back now and then. However, we do expect to have plenty of visitors coming to the desert southwest.
People have been asking about our new home, so I have put together a video of clips and photos taken during our February visit to Tucson. At the time, our townhouse was one of several homes at which we were looking, so I limited the video on each home, therefore not capturing a comprehensive view of each. You will note that since it was winter in the desert, some of the vegetation was in a dormant state.

The memories we share only grow in value with time and so too our friendship. We hope to be on the scene for future WIP events, but since we will be missing most, I challenge you and all my MCLAC friends to keep me in the loop and on top of the great literary arts things happening in Montgomery County.
For almost twenty years, you have been my link (alone with my brother, Tom) to the literary world. I will always endeavor to maintain the link and seek to return the favor.
And, we do expect to see you and Nancy in Tucson — often!

Fantastic tour but you left out the part about how you and Joy are going to be returning for Dickinson and Whitman each year.

You and Joy will be missed especially at the Blues Project. We will have to plan a vacation now that Ken is retired. Seems all those vacations weeks I had have somehow been scheduled with multiple destinations….lol. Congrats but we will sooooo miss you both.

Wally stayed in Tucson for 6 weeks once working near Green Valley. Every since he has promised to take me. Maybe now he will keep that promise. Can’t believe you are leaving. Wish you the bests.
We have been in Texas since the late 70’s, so by any measure, this is not an easy move. However, it’s that degree of difficulty that only adds to tomorrow’s quality of life. We hope to see you guys in Tucson, so come out and “watch the mountains wear away” with us.
Oh. I will miss you so much Kenne. It won’t be the same without you in the “group!”
I will miss MCLAC, but you guys are too much a part of me to not plan visits now and then.
Won’t be long till Texas is just a glance up in the rear view mirror.

Good luck with your move! Somehow I always thought you’d end up in Santa Fe…..knew you loved the desert Southwest……so not surprised with your move! Hope it isn’t a hassle.
Santa Fe was under consideration. We had been reviewing MLS listing there as we were Tucson. We also were planning on visiting Santa Fe as we did Tucson, but obviously, things changed after visiting Tucson. We think it’s a better fit.
Good luck in your move to Tucson. How did you ever get the courage to make a move. I’ve been trying to relocate and just can’t seem to make a decision. Guess you just saw the right place to settle.
It’s in my DNA, Joy’s too. Without the willingness to take risks, we would have never ended up in Texas years ago. We have a comfortable life in a beautiful community, so it’s very easy to become complacent. A move like this tends to shake things up creating new possibilities. Plus, we love the Tucson area and we hope we will have plenty of visitors.
We are all looking forward to your moving closer to your California family. Although, I must admit, we all felt alittle left out with no mention of how nice it will be to see us all more often. Joy has been gone way too long from all of us and we miss her terribly. Looking forward to seeing you both soon and sharing good times.
. . . but we tell the people here that one of the reasons for the move is to be closer to family in California, so now they are unhappy with us — not really, people tend to admire our guts.
