On February 8th, I posted an entry on this blog titled, ANOTHER FACE ON THE 46 MILLION UNINSURED AMERICANS. The face I was referring to is Houston’s Diunna Greenleaf, who had surgery in December. diunna-benefit-5510-blog1The good news is Diunna is doing well as she continues the prescribed rehab; the bad news is she has a large medical bill. This past Sunday, friends, fans and Blues musicians went to The Big Easy Social & Pleasure Club to donate time and money in an effort to assist Diunna in paying her medical bills.  The Blues community is known for coming together to help their peers in need, and this event for Diunna was not an exception.

J. Gosey, who worked hard to make this event a success. (Photo Right: Texas Johnny Brown)

  1. Great pictures. Everyone who came and supported Diunna had a wonderful time.
Thanks to all who came and the talented musucians who gave their time and talent to a worthy cause.
We know where we’ve been but we sure don’t know where we’re going. I think people need to think about this and suppot whom ever needs help.

  2. Kenne,
It was wonderful to see you and all of the great folks who came out to help with the benefit. I was very tired by the end of the evening but, I wanted to stay and speak to everyone in attendance. I am getting stronger every day. I want to thank Dorothy and I.J. Gosey, Nancy McAfee,Mr. and Mrs V.,Jonn Richardson , Tom Maclenden and all of the fellow musicians , friends and fans who participated. I shall never forget you.
